Around 70 Karate students from our school ( Sacred Heart Convent School Naugajja-Kishangarh) participated in an advanced one-day karate training seminar which was conducted by Shihan Andrew Riley, a 7th degree black belt karate trainer from Australia. The budding students learned the tips of the art and the guest instructor Shihan Andrew was very impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the students as he emphasized that the hunger to learn is the key to success. The students were also awarded the Color Belt Rank of Karate for their performance. The students also interacted with Shihan Riley and asked Shihan Riley a series of questions about karate, Australia and Australian culture and practices. Mr. Andrew Riley was invited to India by Shihan Om Parkash, Director of the CENTER OF EXCELLENCE the school of Martial Arts to provide training and interact with his students in schools. Shihan Andrew and Shihan Om Prakash are both members of the World Koshik Karate Do Federation, World Headquarters Japan and heads of country for their respective countries. Rev. Fr William Sahota the Director and Rev Sr Biji the Principal and Rev Sr Bharati the vice Principal thanked the guest trainers for their visit and training Shihan Andrew also invited the students to Australia for cultural exchange and training programme.
